Dominic Hornblow is the Head of Legal and Procurement at AstraZeneca’s UK Marketing Company. As Head of Legal, he works to enable the UKMC to quantify and manage a wide variety of legal and regulatory risks and to identify and exploit commercial opportunities. As Head of Procurement, he leads a team which assists the business with commercial negotiations and with the management of suppliers. Dominic joined AstraZeneca in 2013 and, since then, he has been involved with the integration of two product portfolios into the UK business and also with the management of a variety of patent cases around the world relating to some of AstraZeneca’s major products. He also plays a key role in designing AstraZeneca’s commercial strategies for the UK environment.

Before joining AstraZeneca, Dominic worked as an intellectual property and technology lawyer in the London office of Jones Day for ten years. During his time there he worked on many major transactions including Honda’s acquisition of the BAR Formula One team in 2005, BT’s £1bn IT outsourcing contract with TechMahindra in 2008, WL Ross & Co’s investment in Virgin Money in 2010 and the administration of Connaught PLC in 2011.
